ROUGH SILK: In Songwriting Mode

July 14, 2005

Singer Ferdy Doernberg of the German epic/melodic metallers ROUGH SILK has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"Not so much new in the ROUGH SILK headquarters. We're writing songs and also rehearsing more songs for the live set.

"I'm busy producing the new album of the ska/punk-band BAD NENNDORF BOYS. I also played keyboards and some other instruments on it. Also I played on four songs for the debut album of the Bielefeld-based fusion-band C.O.P. (produced by Carsten Schulz and Jochen Mayer of DOMAIN). Really freaky stuff!

"I'll apear on a few more festivals with the AXEL RUDI PELL BAND. I will [also] play with POWERGOD at the Earthshaker Festival when they do the live performance of their new metal tribute album on which I played on two songs. Other guest musicians will be among others: Schmier (DESTRUCTION),Tom Angelripper (SODOM) and Minoru Niihara (LOUDNESS)."

As previously reported, ROUGH SILK recently parted ways with bassist Ralf Schwertner, guitarist Nils Wunderlich and drummer Herbert Hartmann. Rounding out the group's current lineup are André Hort (bass, A.O.D.),Mike Mandel (guitar, A.O.D.) and drummer Detlef "Dizzy" Kroll (ex-TRIBE 13).
