RUDRA Signs With SONIC BLAST MEDIA

Singaporean metallers RUDRA will release their new album, "Brahmavidya - Immortal I", the long-anticipated final chapter of the "Brahmavidya" trilogy, on March 3 via Sonic Blast Media.

Imran Manaff, director of Sonic Blast Media, commented on the signing: "We are very thrilled that RUDRA has decided to partner with Sonic Blast Media to release their latest album, 'Immortal I'.

"Brahmavidya - Immortal I" was recorded at Black Isle Studios, the same facility the band utilized during the sessions for 2009's "Brahmavidya: Transcendental I".

Considered one of the leaders of the Asian metal scene, RUDRA's forthcoming album comes as an anchor CD to complete the concept that started with "Brahmavidya: Primordial I" in 2005. Their tenacious adherence to philosophy and introspection has again manifested into a lyrical assault on everything that's conceivable to the human mind.

RUDRA vocalist/bassist Kathir has described the album as "a 55-minute burst of pure unadulterated vedic metal which will appeal to the fans and even those who are not. This is an album like none in our career. The songs have a new character and the lyrics may appeal to Socratic minds. It is a dream come true for having finally completed the 'Brahmavidya' trilogy."

RUDRA's video for the track "Hymns from the Blazing Chariot" can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Jacen Tan and was "filmed over a period of two months, using some cool 'green-screen' effects," according to the band. "The concept is based on the ancient battle of Kurukshetra, focusing on the dialogue between two warriors, Arjuna and Krishna."

"Hymns from the Blazing Chariot' comes off the Singaporean metallers' last album, "Brahmavidya: Transcendental I", which was released in 2009 via Vic Records. The CD was produced by Joshua G. Nair and Sean Loo and features fourteen tracks with a total running time of about 70 minutes.
