RUSH Drummer NEIL PEART: 'The Ballad Of Larry And Suzy'

RUSH drummer Neil Peart has posted a lengthy update in the "News, Weather And Sports" section of his official web site. Read it at this location.

RUSH may possibly get to work on a new album this fall and release it in 2010, according to Noisecreep.com. Guitarist Alex Lifeson said that producer Nick Raskulinecz, who produced 2007's "Snakes & Arrows", is eager to work with the legendary trio again. Lifeson explained, "I think Nick calls the office once a week just to make sure we're still planning on getting back to work at some point." Lifeson adds that the band was "pretty beat" after playing 120 shows in support of "Snakes", saying, "We'd been working constantly for the last eight years or so, and really needed a break, and decided to take a year off. We're sort of coming to the end of that period."

Lifeson said that the birth of Peart's child last month is also a factor in determining when the group begins working again. Lifeson revealed, "(Neil's) asked if we can just wait a little bit until he gets settled and see how he feels about getting back to work or when to get back to work. So we're sort of playing it open right now."

The guitarist did say that he's been writing at home in Toronto, adding, "I would guess that sometime in the early fall we would get back together and start writing again, and then hopefully by next summer, we'd be ready to tour."
