RUSH's GEDDY LEE Interviewed On U.K.'s PLANET ROCK (Audio)

November 11, 2010

On Monday, November 8, Darren Redick of U.K.'s leading classic rock radio station Planet Rock conducted an interview with RUSH bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee. During the chat, Geddy talked about the band's forthcoming studio album, when RUSH will be returning to the U.K. for live dates and why actor Jack Black appeared naked onstage with RUSH a few years ago. You can now listen to the interview at this location. (Note: The discussion begins around the 126-minute mark and runs for around 20 minutes.)

When asked about a possible European tour for RUSH, Geddy replied, "We're in discussions right now trying to firm up some dates. I think we're gonna try to come over here in the late spring, if all goes well. We're supposed to be going right back into the studio and finish the work that we started before the last tour, but there's something about the way the 'Time Machine Tour' came together that we'd like as many RUSH fans as possible to experience it. So I think we're gonna try to bring that tour to Europe."

The two-disc DVD release of the award-winning documentary about RUSH, called "Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage", was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments in excess of 100,000 copies. (Note: Due to the fact that the set consists of two discs, it was eligible for platinum certification after shipping 50,000 copies; platinum certification for a single-disc release is 100,000 copies.)

"Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage" won the Audience Choice Award at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival this past April.

RUSH recently completed a 40-date North American tour, which began on June 29 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The trek featured the band's first-ever performance of its 1981 album "Moving Pictures" in its entirety.

The band released two new tracks, "Caravan" and "BU2B", online and will return to the studio after soon to complete its next album, titled "Clockwork Angels".
