SABBAT Confirmed For U.K.'s DOWNLOAD Festival

May 22, 2009

Reactivated British thrashers SABBAT have been confirmed for this year's Download festival, set to take place June 12-14 at Donington Park, United Kingdom. SABBAT will perform on Sunday, June 14.

SABBAT recently cancelled its appearance at the Hammerfest 2009 festival, which was held April 24-25 at at Pontins, Prestatyn Sands, North Wales. The decision to call off the show was made as a result of guitarist Andy "Undie" Sneap's "schedule being moved forward producing the new MEGADETH album in California," according to a statement released by SABBAT.

Sneap also produced MEGADETH's last album, "United Abominations", which came out in May 2007 via Roadrunner.

Professionally filmed video footage of SABBAT's performance at the 2007 installment of the Bloodstock Open Air festival at Catton Hall in Derbyshire, England, can be viewed below.

In 2007, Sanctuary Records reissued two classic SABBAT albums: "History of a Time to Come" (1988) and "Dreamweaver" (1989). The remastered CDs contain audio recordings from the band's 1990 concert in East Berlin, which was previously released as the official "The End of the Beginning" video.
