SACRIFICE: Classic 'The Exorcism' 1985 Demo Available For Download

June 25, 2008

The 1985 eight-song "The Exorcism" demo cassette by influential Toronto thrashers SACRIFICE has been made available for download at the Bazillion Points metal demo blog.

According to the blog post, "[SACRIFICE] had quickly absorbed all the nuances of SLAYER's 'Hell Awaits', and pressed the accelerator pedal to climb to D.R.I. 'Dealing With It' speeds. The panic and energy never relent. This demo version of the cut 'Decapitation' is still one of the craziest thrash outbursts I've ever heard intense as hell, and sick with evil."

Also in the blog, SACRIFICE vocalist/guitarist Rob Urbinati recalls recording "Decapitation", commenting: "I just remember we thought it was the fastest ever!"

Bazillion Points (formerly Bang! Bang!) is the weblog of Ian Christe (publisher of Bazillion Points Books, author of "Sound of the Beast" and host on Sirius Satellite Radio's Hard Attack),is dedicated to "the tradition of freely-traded heavy metal demo cassettes and preserving the pioneer spirit of the underground, one magnetic particle at a time."

Fan-filmed video footage of the reunited SACRIFICE performing the song "As the World Burns" (from 1990's "Soldiers of Misfortune" LP) on March 29, 2008 in Winnipeg, Canada can be viewed below.
