SAMMY HAGAR Made New Album On His Own Schedule
July 25, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: If it seems like it's been a long time since Sammy Hagar had a new album out, that's because his last was "Not 4 Sale" back in 2002. But that all changes today (July 25) when Hagar releases "Livin' It Up". He also probably caused some confusion when he put out the single "Let Me Take You There" over a year ago. Hagar told Launch that he made "Livin' It Up" according to his own schedule, which is something he hasn't always done. "I worked on it for a year, but not in the studio straight through," he said. "We could have done it in two months if I'd've been in the studio for seven days a week, 12 hours a day, but I don't do things that way anymore. I do 'em when I wanna do 'em, because when you wanna do something, you tend to do a better job."
Hagar is on a short break from his summer tour, which features two sets a night — one with his band the WABORITAS, and one with VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony and WABOS guitarist Vic Johnson and drummer David Lauser, when they bill themselves as THE OTHER HALF. Most stops also include a Cabo Wabo village, with Cabo Wabo-themed barbecues, bars, and musicians. The tour resumes Friday (July 28) in Las Vegas.
