SAMMY HAGAR Opens Sammy's Beach Bar & Grill At John F. Kennedy International Airport

August 26, 2010

Sammy Hagar celebrated the grand opening of his namesake restaurant, Sammy's Beach Bar & Grill, located at John F. Kennedy International Airport's (JFK) British Airways Terminal 7. The new full-service restaurant was created by Sammy Hagar and HMSHost Corporation, the creator of engaging travel dining and shopping experiences. The opening of Sammy's Beach Bar & Grill marks the third airport location of the popular Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's signature restaurant, following last recent successful HMSHost openings at Las Vegas McCarran and Maui's Kahului Airport.

"We are very pleased to continue our successful relationship with Sammy Hagar by delivering this exciting new restaurant not only to make the JFK traveler's day better, but also to support local charities," said Joe Waller, HMSHost Vice President of Business Development.

Sammy Hagar will dedicate his profits from this restaurant to local New York community charities. Blessings in a Backpack and the Food Bank for New York City are designated to receive donations from the Hagar Family Foundation.

"British Airways is delighted to welcome the new Sammy's Beach & Bar Grill to Terminal 7, where we are confident that the new restaurant will provide excitement as well as a fun menu for our diverse travelers. We thank our partner HMSHost for delivering this new concept to our terminal and customers and we thank Sammy Hagar for his support," said Maureen Borrell, Vice President, British Airways at JFK.

The Red Rocker's signature restaurant is a celebration of his two favorite things, food and music, a literal feast for the senses. The casual, beach environment and Hagar's personal flare inspire the atmosphere, ambience and menu offerings at Sammy's Beach Bar & Grill. Lunch and dinner menu selections showcase classic American fare with Sammy's favorite recipes such as Cabo Wabo Ceviche and Beach Salad.

"Music and dining are two of my great passions. Our menu is the result of recipes and advice I've received from some of my favorite friends and the celebrated chefs I've met in my travels across America. Guests can enjoy a great meal and know that they are making a difference to local children in need," said Sammy Hagar.

The vibrant colors and electric atmosphere ramp up the energy and excitement at this fun, casual beach house venue. Highlights of Sammy's legendary rock ‘n roll career wail out through the guitars and musical memorabilia, while generous plasma screens provide visual content ranging from news to music videos. Light and color blend with natural beach textures and materials, hip chairs and bold tables intermingle with surfboards and palm trees in an eclectic style.

HMSHost also opened the Gerber Group's Stone Rose Bar & Grill at JFK in the first quarter of 2010. More than 500 HMSHost associates serve travelers at JFK in restaurants including Todd English's Bonfire, Sapphire Lounge, Ciao Gourmet Market, Balducci's and French Meadow Bakery.
