SANCTIFICATION: 'All The Nine Songs For The Album Are Done'

March 24, 2008

SANCTIFICATION, the Swedish death metal band featuring current/former members of GOD AMONG INSECTS, IN BATTLE and SOULDRAINER, recently recruited Tony Laureano (DIMMU BORGIR, ex-NILE, ANGELCORPSE) to lay down the drum tracks for its upcoming CD. The recording sessions will take place this spring at the Abyss Studios in Sweden. A summer/fall 2008 release via Pulverised Records is expected.

Commented the group: "All the nine songs for the album are done and the rehearsals are in full progress. We are trying to get the pieces together with Tony now but it is not easy since he is on the road with DIMMU BORGIR, and the timetable can be a bit tight for rehearsals and so on. We do have a backup plan but Tony is our first choice so we hope that we will be able to solve this."

SANCTIFICATION parted ways with drummer Nils Fjellstrm last year due to "his busy schedule with DARK FUNERAL," according to a press release.

Commented the band: "The loss of Nils was a big one but this feels like a fresh start for us, and we are very happy and honoured that Tony wants to do this with us. He is a great guy and a fantastic drummer, so this feels absolutely awesome."

SANCTIFICATION's debut album, "Misanthropic Salvation", was released in 2003 through Remission Records.
