SARKE Confirmed For Holland's ROADBURN FESTIVAL

December 14, 2009

SARKE, the Norwegian band featuring Sarke (KHOLD, TULUS, OLD MAN'S CHILD, SENSA ANIMA) and Nocturno Culto (DARKTHRONE),has been confirmed for the Tom Gabriel Warrior-curated Only Death Is Real event during Roadburn Festival 2010 in Tilburg, Netherlands on Friday, April 16.

SARKE's music and lyrics are written by its namesake Sarke. He has previously spread his angry art through KHOLD, TULUS, OLD MAN'S CHILD and SENSA ANIMA. Joining him on his musical quest is DARKTHRONE's Nocturno Culto, whose distinctive vocals combine with Sarke's music to create another blackened chapter to the grim book of extreme metal. Inspired by the forefathers, but distinctly new and original.

SARKE's debut album, "Vorunah", was recorded in old-fashioned analog style, with a brutal, in-your-face sound inspired by the likes of BLACK SABBATH, CELTIC FROST, CANDLEMASS, MAYHEM and MOTÖRHEAD.

"This is a great honor for SARKE," the band said in a statement. "To be invited by Tom to perform at Roadburn is something that took us by black magic surprise. Some of you might know that Tom joined forces with us at our performance at Wacken in August 2009, which is something we will never forget. The respect we have for Tom and his music is neverending. We're looking forward to performing at Roadburn, and we will be introducing new songs into the set. To witness TRIPTYKON live will be something to remember as well."

In other related news, Tom Gabriel Warrior has also added BOHREN & DER CLUB OF GORE, SUMA and LONG DISTANCE CALLING to the lineup of Only Death Is Real. In addition, Tom Gabriel Warrior will introduce his new incarnation, TRIPTYKON, who will make their on-stage debut at Roadburn Festival 2010 in the headlining slot in support of their forthcoming album, titled "Eparistera Daimones".

The Roadburn Festival will be held once again at the 013 venue, and Midi Theatre in Tilburg, Holland from Thursday, April 15 through Sunday, April 18, 2010.
