SAROS Completes Work On New Album

November 14, 2008

San Francisco Bay Area metal act SAROS, which features in its ranks members of AMBER ASYLUM, BASTARD NOISE, and WEAKLING, has completed work on its new album, "Acrid Plains", to be released by Profound Lore Records mid-February 2009.

Finding itself within the circle that comprises the artistic surge of the underground Bay Area metal scene alongside like-minded acts as LUDICRA, HAMMERS OF MISFORTUNE, ASUNDER, GRAYCEON, AMBER ASYLUM, and WORM OUROBOROS, SAROS presents a unique front with its brand of epic blackened progressive chamber-laced metal. Tastefully blending a collective of influences from several genres such as classic Bay Area metal, black metal, progressive metal, folk, and neo-classical chamber music, "Acrid Plains" (produced by the legendary knob-twiddler Billy Anderson) embraces the characteristics evident in SAROS' musical peers while combining characteristics reminiscent from such acts as METALLICA ("...And Justice For All" era),DEATH ("Symbolic" era),the folk-sensibilities of AGALLOCH and DEATH IN JUNE, and the gothic neo-classicism of the aforementioned AMBER ASYLUM (which in turn is SAROS singer Leila Rauf's other full-time band; AMBER ASYLUM mastermind Kris Force also makes a guest cameo appearance on "Acrid Plains").
