SAVATAGE Part Ways With Singer DAMOND JINIYA?

July 12, 2004

SAVATAGE have parted ways with singer Damond Jiniya (DIET OF WORMS, THE NEGLECTED),according to a recent interview with former SAVATAGE and current CIRCLE II CIRCLE vocalist Zack Stevens.

Although SAVATAGE guitarist Chris Caffery was previously quoted as saying that the group's next studio album would feature contributions from three singers — Jiniya, Jon Oliva and StevensZack has told Greek webzine Metal-Realm.com that Damond is no longer considered to be part of the group. "I don't think there will be three singers," Stevens said. "I really don't think Damond is part of it anymore. To tell you the truth, from what I've seen, it's over. It's just gonna be either Jon, or Jon and me. It could be just Jon, but I really don't think Damond is in the picture anymore. I've just been hearing conversations, I just don't think it really worked out. That's me, that's my opinion for the conversations that are going around...could be wrong but, it won't be three singers."
