SCALE THE SUMMIT's CHRIS LETCHFORD To Release Guitar Instructional Book
December 27, 2009Guitarist Chris Letchford of Houston progressive instrumentalists SCALE THE SUMMIT will release a guitar instructional book, "Chris Letchford's Guitar Technique Book", on January 2, 2010 via the band's official web store. The book will also be available at SCALE THE SUMMIT's merchandise table during the group's January/February tour with BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, CYNIC and DEVIN TOWNSEND.
"Chris Letchford's Guitar Technique Book" includes 52 custom exercises that Chris has written out for six-string guitars. It is described in a press release as "a perfect book for building your chops and mastering the fingerboard! Great for all styles of music, from classical to metal, rock, latin, jazz, and country. [The book is] also spiral bound, which makes it stay open when laying flat or on a music stand!"

SCALE THE SUMMIT's Prosthetic Records debut, "Carving Desert Canyons", came out in February. The CD was recorded last year at New Jersey's Nut House Recording Studio with producer Tom Beaujour.
"Carving Desert Caravans" is the follow-up to SCALE THE SUMMIT's self-financed full-length debut, "Monument", which received critical praise upon its release in 2007.
