SCARS ON BROADWAY Album Available For Streaming

The self-titled debut album from SCARS ON BROADWAY, the new band led by SYSTEM OF A DOWN guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan, is available for streaming in its entirety at NME.com (free registration required).

As previously reported, SCARS ON BROADWAY had its new single, "They Say", selected as "Single of the Week" at iTunes, with the online music store inviting people to download it for free. As a result, the track was downloaded more than 100,000 times on the first day alone.

SCARS ON BROADWAY will launch its first headlining tour of North America in October. Exact dates and venues have yet to be determined.

"They Say", the first video from SCARS ON BROADWAY, can be viewed below. The clip, shot in Los Angeles last month, was directed by Paul Minor (MUSE, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE) and incorporates performance footage cut with an evocative potpourri of startling images from our world's culture — occurrences in nature, war, natural and man-made disasters, animals in the wild, human interaction, weather phenomenon, and so on.

Both SCARS ON BROADWAY and SYSTEM lead singer Serj Tankian declined to release their latest projects through Columbia Records, where SYSTEM has been signed since 1998.

Tankian's debut solo effort, "Elect the Dead", came out last fall through the Warner Music Group.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN has been on hiatus since 2006 while its members have pursued various personal projects.
