SCOTT WEILAND Changes Lawyers, Is Set To Appear In Court Next Week

VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland was due in court Wednesday (Feb. 18) to address charges of driving under the influence of drugs, but the singer had his representative ask for a continuance, which was granted, since he just changed lawyers, according to MTV.com. Weiland is now due in court on Monday (Feb. 23),when paperwork for the change of counsel will have to be submitted.

In other news, VELVET REVOLVER have now officially set a May 18 release date through RCA Records for their much-anticipated debut, "Contraband", according to Billboard.com. First single "Slither" will be delivered March 23 to U.S. rock radio outlets for airplay consideration. Among the other tracks set for inclusion are "Sucker Train Blues", "Fall To Pieces", "Super Human", "You Got No Right", "Set Me Free" and "Headspace".
