SCOTT WEILAND Discusses Christmas Single; Video Available

A short interview with STONE TEMPLE PILOTS/ex-VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland about his new Christmas single, a cover of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", can be viewed below.

Weiland performed the tune — made famous by Judy Garland in "Meet Me in St. Louis" — on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" back in 2006.

Weiland's rendition of the song can be heard on AOL Radio's Rock Holiday station and is available for purchase via iTunes.

As previously reported, Weiland is auctioning off a number of personal items and memorabilia. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go through Weiland's ArchAngel Organization to the widow and two children of Weiland's brother, Michael Weiland, who passed away unexpectedly in 2007 after a long struggle with drug addiction.

Scott said, "The overall idea is to grow this into something more, while still helping my brother's family, and to also reach out and help families who are or have recently been through the same painful and seemingly hopeless situation. For now however, this is what we can and what we are able to do. Have fun with it and know that the profits are going to help my sister in-law and my nieces Sophie and Claudette."

Items up for auction include a signed guitar, along with clothes that Weiland has worn onstage, at awards shows and at various other public engagements.

The auction began on Monday (December 7) at the web site of the label that Weiland co-owns, SoftDrive Records, and will last for two weeks.

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS is currently completing work on its first new album since 2001.
