SCOTT WEILAND, JERRY CANTRELL Jam With CAMP FREDDY In Las Vegas: Photos Available

January 8, 2005

Scott Weiland (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS),Jerry Cantrell (ex-ALICE IN CHAINS),Billy Duffy (ex-THE CULT) and Joan Jett were among the special guests during CAMP FREDDY's set Wednesday (Jan. 5) in Las Vegas at a release party for Sony's forthcoming PSP portable game system. Pictures from the gig — which was not open to the public — can be viewed at Wire Image.

Commented CAMP FREDDY guitarist Dave Navarro (ex-JANE'S ADDICTION, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS): "I know we played with Joan Jett, Xzibit, Tone Loc, Scott Weiland, Macy Grey, Juliette Lewis, Steve Jones, Jerry Cantrell, Billy Duffy, Tony Kanal... Who else? It was just killer. Also, there was like this porn convention going on so it was really extra off the hook. I described it to a friend as being like hell on a good day. We did the usual set of SEX PISTOLS, BOWIE, T-REX, and all that, flanked with some hip hop like Macy singing BLONDIE's 'Rapture' with Tone doing the middle rap. We also rocked his classic 'Wild Thing' with the HALEN riff, 'Jamie's Crying'. [Chris] Chaney [CAMP FREDDY/ex-JANE'S ADDICTION bassist] came up with a killer groove and we just free style jammed with Xzibit. That was killer. Joan, a first timer for FREDDY, did 'Bad Reputation' and 'Pretty Vacant' with us. I'll tell you, she looked and sounded awesome."
