SCOTT WEILAND's Court Hearing Postponed
November 17, 2003VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland was due to have his arraignment on a DUI charge on Monday (November 17),but the case was continued until December 3, according to MTV.com. The former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer is completing his court-ordered stay at a residential rehab facility, and will not have to appear at the next court hearing, as his lawyer can enter a plea for him since it's a misdemeanor charge.
Weiland was arrested on Oct. 27 after a traffic accident, and was charged with driving under the influence and misdemeanor hit-and-run. He was on probation in connection with a May drug arrest. A judge subsequently ordered Weiland to enter a live-in detox program, and to follow it up with a six-month stay in a residential drug rehabilitation center.
