Seattle's Black History Project To Honor JIMI HENDRIX FOUNDATION CEO
January 30, 2008Jimmy Williams, CEO of the Jimi Hendrix Foundation, is among the honorees at the second annual Black History Project taking place at the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center in West Seattle on Saturday, February 16. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the event running from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Black History Project is designed to pay homage to African-American history and pioneers as well as honor current outstanding citizens in the community through music; as well as create an atmosphere of solidarity in the name of Black History Month.
The event is an all-ages, two-hour show featuring international recording artist, CEO of Brave New World, and spokesperson for the Jimi Hendrix Foundation, Shyan Selah. Opening acts will include rising star Anthony Shears and local legend Xola Malik, formerly known as "Kid Sensation." The celebrity host for the event will be Movin 92.5's nighttime DJ, DJ Kaz.
