SENATE In Writing Mode

February 4, 2008

Canadian metallers SENATE have issued the following update:

"Pat (drums) returned from a two-month run with DESPISED ICON filling in for Alex on the drums, and we managed to squeeze in a show with BENEATH THE MASSACRE a couple days afterwards. The main business however is that we've been writing and demoing tunes for our next record! We're nearly half a dozen tunes in, and we have lots more ideas that just need to be arranged and recorded and I would say that things are progressing very well.

"As far as the tunes go, they are all quite different from each other, and quite different from the 'Scenekill' record. Some are longer and more technical, a couple are shorter and more aggressive and a couple ideas are coming out very melodic, so it looks like it's gonna be a much more diverse and interesting outing this time.

"Some of the new titles are: 'Everyone's A Christian On Their Deathbed', 'Sympathy For The Insects', 'The Whore', 'Vices' and 'Speak Through Me'.

"We're aiming to do some in studio pre-production in late March/early April so you'll get a chance to hear some new ideas around then."

SENATE's debut album, "The Great Northern Scenekill", was recorded at Silo Studios in Hamilton, Ontario with producer Julius "Juice" Butty (ALEXISONFIRE, PROTEST THE HERO).
