SEPULTURA Confirmed For Portugal's VILAR DE MOUROS 2006 Festival

June 5, 2006

Brazilian thrashers SEPULTURA have been confirmed for the Vilar de Mouros 2006 festival, set to take place July 21-23 in Vilar de Mouros, Portugal. Also scheduled to perform are MOONSPELL and CRADLE OF FILTH, among many others.

Vilar de Mouros is said to be an extremely small village, with around 600 inhabitants, at the extreme northwest of Portugal, near the border with Spain and near the Atlantic Ocean. The nearest village that appears on road-maps is Caminha and the nearest big city is Porto.

It is not presently clear if drummer Igor Cavalera will be rejoining SEPULTURA for their upcoming appearance at the Vilar de Mouros 2006 festival and the subsequent U.S. tour, which is tentatively planned for August/September (with HATEBREED also rumored to be on the bill).

Igor announced earlier in the year that he was taking a break from the group's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son (who was born in January). Filling in on drums during the band's European tour with IN FLAMES was Roy Mayorga, who played with Igor's brother Max in SOULFLY for several years in the late '90s and again in 2001-2003. Mayorga has since joined STONE SOUR as a full-time member and will not be available to tour with SEPULTURA for the foreseeable future.
