SEPULTURA Frontman: 'We Don't Plan On Playing OZZFEST'

December 15, 2006

Sandra Valladolid of the El Paso Times recently conducted an interview with SEPULTURA frontman Derrick Green. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:

On the group's current tour:

"It's intense. We have our loyal fans that have stuck with SEPULTURA since the beginning, but we're also seeing a lot of younger kids that are just now discovering metal and appreciate the music."

Attributing the continuing fan base to the band's ability to change and evolve:

"We're trying new things. That's what makes our music exciting. We're using more instrumentation, like adding horns and strings. Traveling has also influenced what we produce. The people we meet and current events have had an effect on our writing."

Denying that this will be the band's last tour:

"There's still so much we want to do, and the fans still want it."

On rumors that there may be a reunion with classic SEPULTURA lineup at Ozzfest 2007:

"We don't plan on playing Ozzfest. We might play in another festival that promotes newer ideas and isn't so commercial."
