SEPULTURA Guitarist ANDREAS KISSER: 'Hail To The Brazilian Blues!'

September 3, 2007

SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser has issued the following update:

"[I] just came back from the Northeast of Brazil, a region well known for the beautiful beaches, warm weather and traditional Brazilian music. We were in Joao Peesoa, Recife, Natal and Fortaleza. I played with Vasco Faé, an awesome musician who can play harmonica, drums, guitar and he can sing too. We performed at the Oi Blues By Night festival and the reaction from the crowd was amazing. Sold-out gigs in a region that is totally different from the world of blues. I was impressed with the local musicians playing the blues with skills and a lot of heart and soul. We did versions of ROBERT JOHNSON, BUDDY GUY along with versions of BLACK SABBATH, LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE, etc... A very special thanks to Giovane Papaleu, who organized and produced the festival in a pioneering attitude. Congratulations to all who participated and I'm ready for the next ones! Hail to the Brazilian blues!"

Fan-filmed video footage of Andreas Kisser performing with Brazilian blues musician Vasco Faé at the Oi Blues By Night in Recife, Brazil on August 29 can be viewed below.
