SEPULTURA Joined By Tibetan Singer At French Festival; Video Available

August 7, 2007

Phurbu Thinley of Phayul.com reports that Brazilian thrashers SEPULTURA jammed with Tibetan singer Loten Namling at Les Tanzmatten in the French city of Sélestat last week. The performance was part of the annual Lez'arts Schenique Festival, which uses music to create awareness about various causes both locally and around the world. This year, on the eve of a major sport and political event of the “2008 Olympics in Beijing", the festival's theme concentrated on Tibet. The three-day festival featured performances by 25 bands, including SEPULTURA.

For Loten it was a new experience introducing the Tibetan cause to the hardcore SEPULTURA fans. To the powerful beats of "Bullet the Blue Sky", Loten sang the haunting melodies of Tibet and rapped the ancient saying "Tibetans are happier in Tibet. Chinese are Happier in China."

SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser stated in an online posting, "I hope that our effort here, some how, can help the cause of Tibet. FREE TIBET!"

Andreas said that he was impressed by how the incredible voice of Loten was used in the middle of a song to make a quick speech about the situation in Tibet and his discontent about the Chinese Government.

"It was very emotional," he said.

Watch video footage of the performance below.
