SERJ TANKIAN On 'Loveline': Behind-The-Scenes Footage

September 21, 2010

Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and political activist Serj Tankian was the featured guest on the September 9 edition of the nationally syndicated "Loveline" radio show with hosts Dr. Drew Pinsky and Mike.

Behind-the-scenes footage from his appearance on the program can be viewed below.

Tankian's new solo album, "Imperfect Harmonies", arrives on Tuesday (September 21) and follows up his 2007 solo debut, "Elect The Dead". Unlike that album and some of his work with SYSTEM OF A DOWN, Tankian told The Pulse of Radio that the new record is less political and more philosophical. "It's a definite brooding kind of record with a lot of layers that reveals itself over time," he said. " If 'Elect The Dead' was making a statement about civilization's end, then this one is making a statement about where to go next, post-civilized world, you know. I think that's the focus."

Tankian has called "Imperfect Harmonies" "electro-orchestral-jazz-rock" in many recent interviews.

Although he was originally scheduled to kick off the North American leg of the "Imperfect Harmonies" world tour on September 12 in Canada, the trek was postponed.

Tankian toured Europe this past summer, doing performances of "Elect The Dead Symphony", the orchestral version of that album which he debuted in New Zealand in 2009 and captured on a CD and DVD released earlier this year.
