SEVENDUST Drummer Discusses CLINT LOWERY's Return; Audio Available
March 27, 2008Crash and LT on 101.1 WJRR in Orlando, Florida talked to SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose yesterday morning (Wednesday, March 26) about the return of guitarist Clint Lowery to the band and dismissal of Sonny Mayo. You can listen to the interview at this location.
Lowery was with SEVENDUST when they formed in 1995 and signed to TVT Records in 1997. He was a key member of the SEVENDUST attack throughout their TVT years which saw the band release "Sevendust" (1997),"Home" (1999),"Animosity" (2001),"Seasons" (2003) and "Southside Double Wide" (2003). After leaving TVT in 2003 the band and Lowery mutually parted ways, with Lowery moving on to join his brother in the band DARK NEW DAY. SEVENDUST brought in former SNOT guitar player Sonny Mayo to replace Lowery and went on to release three full-length albums: "Next" (2004) on the now-defunct Winedark Records, "Alpha" (2007) on 7Bros. Records, SEVENDUST's wholly owned label through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group and "Chapter VII: Hope & Sorrow" which comes out April 1 on 7Bros/Asylum.
SEVENDUST has announced the details of its spring tour, which will kick off on April 9 in Port St. Lucie, Florida. SALIVA, NEVERSET, and OVERSCENE will be on the tour for the first leg, which runs through May 3 in South Bend, Indiana. BLACK STONE CHERRY will join the trek May 4-17.
SEVENDUST recently pulled out of its participation in this summer's inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour, indicating in a statement that it canceled its involvement "due to changes in (the group's) touring schedule." The Rockstar Energy Mayhem Tour, featuring headliners DISTURBED and SLIPKNOT, is scheduled to kick off on July 9 in Seattle and will hit 30 North American cities.
