SEVENDUST Drummer Says DEZ FAFARA Is Calling ROSE's Wife Crying For Forgiveness

September 12, 2003

SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose has slammed back at former COAL CHAMBER frontman Dez Fafara (currently in DEVILDRIVER) in a continuing war of words over SEVENDUST's latest single, "Enemy", which is dedicated to Fafara.

"Enemy" was written and largely sung by Rose, whose wife is former COAL CHAMBER bassist Rayna Foss-Rose. The song, a full-on character assassination, features such lines as, "Look at your face, look at your name/ Funny you're a loser with only yourself to blame," and "You want to be like me 'cause it's real/ So you steal on your way to fame."

Writing to DEVILDRIVER's official web site, Fafara said, "I am glad that I did not inspire a love song for [SEVENDUST']s lite rock ballad single and for Morgan Rose to please grow up."

Responding to Fafara's latest statement, Rose said, "If Dez Fafara thinks my comments were out of line and childish, it's interesting that he's calling up my wife crying for forgiveness while still talking shit on the Internet. To set the record straight, I never had a problem with COAL CHAMBER, it was always with Dez. No one in the music industry should be surprised that someone finally stood up against this guy, his behavior and the way he treats people. The reason COAL CHAMBER isn't together anymore is because his bandmates hated him. And I think most people in my shoes would have taken harsher actions if their wife was treated the way Dez treated Rayna."
