SEVENDUST's MORGAN ROSE Plays His Final Show With MÖTLEY CRÜE

August 19, 2009

According to a posting on SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose's Facebook page, tonight's (August 19) MÖTLEY CRÜE concert at the Comcast Center Event in Mansfield, Massachusetts will likely mark his final appearance with the CRÜE as the temporary replacement for Tommy Lee.

Rose filled in for Lee at MÖTLEY CRÜE's last five shows — August 14 at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio; August 15 at Clarkston, Michigan's DTE Energy Music Theatre; August 16 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's Post-Gazette Pavilion; August 18 at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey; and August 19 at the Comcast Center Event in Mansfield, Massachusetts.

Fan-filmed video footage of the Holmdel gig can be viewed below.

Lee was forced to miss the last week's worth of Crüe Fest 2 shows after burning his left hand while playing with a set of sparklers.

Lee, his left thumb and forefinger wrapped in bandages, is still taking part in the shows, coming on first to explain his absence, then to hand a bottle of Jagermeister to the crowd and, during the encores, play piano on "Home Sweet Home" and thump on a drum with his right hand for "Girls, Girls, Girls", according to Billboard.com.

The last time Lee was forced to sit out a MÖTLEY CRÜE gig was June 12, 2007 when he was he recovering from another arm ailment. EVANESCENCE/DARK NEW DAY drummer Will Hunt filled in for Lee at that show, although Tommy did manage to take to the kit for one number — the immortal "Kickstart My Heart".
