April 16, 2009

SEVENTH VOID, the new band formed by TYPE O NEGATIVE guitarist Kenny Hickey and drummer Johnny Kelly, has schedueld the following meet-and-greet sessions and in-store appearances:

April 25 - Newbury Comics - Norwood, MA (at 4:00 p.m.) (autograph session + performance)
April 26 - Duff's - Brooklyn, NY (8:00 p.m.) (meet-and-greet/listening party)
April 27 - Vintage Vinyl - Fords, NJ (autograph session)

The Metal Nurse of SkullsNBones.com recently conducted an interview with SEVENTH VOID. Watch the chat below.

SEVENTH VOID will release its debut album, "Heaven Is Gone", on April 21 via Big Vin Records, the label formed by HELLYEAH/ex-PANTERA drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott. A CD-release party will be held that same night at the Clubhouse, the Dallas nightclub founded by Vinnie Paul and his late brother, PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. "It's an amazing record," Vinnie recently said. "I mixed the whole thing for the guys. It goes somehere between SOUNDGARDEN meets BLACK SABBATH meets a little AUDIOSLAVE, with some TYPE O thrown in there. It's really nice, dark, sludgy… Kenny's vocals are great."

Rounded out by bassist Hank Hell (INHUMAN) and guitarist Matt Brown (ex-SUPERMASSIV),SEVENTH VOID continues TYPE O's tradition of slow, heavy riffs and existential lyrics, but with a slightly sludgier, "stonier" flavor.

SEVENTH VOID will support STATIC-X on a number of shows in May.
