SHADOWKEEP Hard At Work On New Album
January 20, 2006U.K. power metallers SHADOWKEEP have now completed all the rhythm parts for the new album, the title of which is still under wraps. Drummer Scott Higham and bassist Stony Grantham entered Thin Ice Studios just before Christmas to lay down all their parts and the results have been "stunning," according to a press release. Guitarists Chris Allen and Nicki Robson will continue the recording process in February when they go in to track their parts before new singer Richie Wicks (ex-ANGEL WITCH, TYGERS OF PAN TANG) puts the finishing touches on the effort at the end of that month. The band hope to have the album completed and ready to promote by late April and certainly in time for their planned festival appearances this summer. As a taster, registered members of their web site, www.shadowkeepmetal.net, can download the first sample of new track "Ten Shades of Black", which is the first full and completed recording made by the new lineup. Reaction by the band's fans have been "wild and full of praise," and as promised, the sound — although maintaining the trademark SHADOWKEEP composition expertise — also has a new tighter, harder more darker edge to it.
