SHADOWS FALL: Behind-The-Scenes Footage From 'Still I Rise' Video Shoot Posted Online

October 1, 2009

Behind-the-scenes footage from the making of "Still I Rise", the new video from Massachusetts metallers SHADOWS FALL, can be viewed below. The clip was helmed by longtime SHADOWS FALL director Zack Merck at the Affliction warehouse in southern California, and was shot in the ring with actual Affliction fighters. Fans were invited to come down and rock out, and they received a special place as extras in the video.

"Still I Rise" is the first single from SHADOWS FALL's new album, "Retribution", which sold around 13,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 35 on The Billboard 200 chart.

SHADOWS FALL's previous CD, "Threads of Life" (which was released through Atlantic Records),opened with just over 24,000 copies to land at No. 46. This was substantially less than the 39,000 first-week tally registered by its predecessor, "The War Within" (Century Media),which came out in September 2004 and debuted at No. 20 on The Billboard 200 chart. SHADOWS FALL's "Fallout from the War" CD — featuring songs that didn't make it onto "The War Within", B-sides from Japan releases and a few cover songs — premiered with just under 13,000 copies in June 2006 to enter the chart at No. 83.

"Retribution" was released on September 15 via Everblack Industries, the label SHADOWS FALL created in conjunction with Warner Music Group's ILG, Ferret Music and ChannelZERO Entertainment. The CD was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (HATEBREED, MUNICIPAL WASTE),with vocal production by Elvis Baskette (INCUBUS, ALTER BRIDGE). The cover artwork was created by Sons of Nero (UNEARTH, EVERY TIME I DIE, BRING ME THE HORIZON).
