SHADOWS FALL, KATAKLYSM, THE SHOWDOWN, ARSIS, DROID: Tour Dates Announced

March 17, 2008

Northern hyper-blasters KATAKLYSM have been confirmed as direct support to SHADOWS FALL on a U.S. tour this April. Also appearing on the bill will be THE SHOWDOWN, ARSIS and DROID.

Commented KATAKLYSM lead singer Maurizio Iacono: "Well, I guess our break time is over. Today we will be having a listening session of our new album, 'Prevail', for the media and our friends in Hollywood, then we fly off to Australia for our first-ever tour there!

"We are planning a massive touring campaign centered around the new album.

"On our return from Australia, we will prepare for a two-week run with SHADOWS FALL. It will be cool to tour with those guys again since it's been a while since we've played together. We are also working on a Canadian headlining tour for the end of May with our good friends INTO ETERNITY.

"As many of you already know, as well we will be on the 'Summer Slaughter Tour' this June/July. So in true KATAKLYSM road warrior tradition we have set ourselves up for something like 60 to 70 shows from April to July!

"We will be premiering some new songs on our MySpace next month and we're thinking of playing two new tracks on the SHADOWS FALL run!

"We are very proud of 'Prevail' and the comments from those who've heard it so far have been OUTSTANDING!

"We can't wait to see all you crazy fucks out there in the pit with fists in the air! See you soon!"

KATAKLYSM filmed a video for the track "Taking the World by Storm" last month in New York. The clip was directed by David Brodsky, who has previously worked with GOD FORBID, GWAR and STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, among others.

"Taking the World by Storm" comes off "Prevail", which was mixed at AudioHammer Studios in Orlando, Florida with producer Jason Suecof. The CD, which is scheduled for release via Nuclear Blast Records on May 23 (Europe) and May 27 (North America),features guest solo appearances by Pat O'Brien (CANNIBAL CORPSE),Dave Linsk (OVERKILL) and producer and guitar shredder Jason Suecof himself. The band promises "a monstrous album that will pummel you from start to finish."

KATAKLYSM recently unveiled the cover artwork for "Prevail", at this location. The band decided to "immortalize" the character that was featured on the cover of their last CD, "In the Arms of Devastation", and have him re-appear as the main character dubbed "The Heartbeast" on "Prevail".

Commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono: "We had so [much] killer feedback on the artwork but especially on the character that we decided to keep him as the band's fifth band member... kinda like IRON MAIDEN did with 'Eddie.'"

"Prevail" track listing:

01. Prevail
02. Taking the world by Storm
03. The Chains of Power
04. As Death Lingers
05. Blood in Heaven
06. To the Throne of Sorrow
07. Breathe to Dominate
08. Tear Down the Kingdom
09. The Vultures are Watching
10. The Last Effort (Renaissance II) (instrumental)
