In a recent interview with Sami Jarroush of the Rock it Out! Blog, SHADOWS FALL frontman Brian Fair was asked about plans for a new studio album from the band. "We've been talking about the new record," he replied. "We haven't really started writing, but me, Matt [Bachand, guitar] and Jon [Donais, guitar] were talking, [and] we wanna write a really fast, technical thrash record this time around — really just kind of keep it nice, brutal and heavy.

"We always talk about writing on the road, but we never do. So once we get off this tour, we'll take some time and that's probably when we'll start getting things rolling. Hopefully [we'll] get into the studio in early 2011, but we'll see what happens."

SHADOWS FALL's latest album, "Retribution", came out on September 15, 2009. The CD sold around 13,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 35 on The Billboard 200 chart. The effort was made available via Everblack Industries, the label SHADOWS FALL created in conjunction with Warner Music Group's ILG, Ferret Music and ChannelZERO Entertainment.
