SHADOWSIDE Taps Producer FREDRIK NORDSTRÖM For New Album

December 24, 2010

After touring all over Europe supporting W.A.S.P. on the second leg of "The Return to Babylon 2010 Tour", Brazilian female-fronted metallers SHADOWSIDE will enter Fredman Studio in Gothenburg, Sweden in January 2011 to begin recording their new album with producer Fredrik Nordström (AT THE GATES, IN FLAMES, DARK TRANQUILLITY, ARCH ENEMY, SOILWORK, BRING ME THE HORIZON).

SHADOWSIDE currently consists of Dani Nolden (vocals),Raphael Mattos (guitarist),Ricardo Piccoli (bass) and Fabio Buitvidas (drums). The band's tour with W.A.S.P lasted nearly two months, hitting such countries as Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania and Estonia.

SHADOWSIDE recently inked a deal with SHP Records for the North American release of the "Dare To Dream" album. The deal also includes the worldwide release of the group's next CD.

SHP Records is a new music label and distributor launched by Sean Healy Presents, the dominant local Los Angeles live concert promoter for over 15 years. The label was founded by Sean Healy Presents owner Sean Healy, along with music industry veterans Fred Sherman and Jason Rothberg. SHP Records is run by proven music industry professionals who are combining their skills, knowledge and network of contacts to form a new kind of music label to work in partnership with artists to connect them directly with fans.

"Dare to Dream" was produced and mixed by Dave Schiffman (RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, AUDIOSLAVE, AVENGED SEVENFOLD) and mastered by Howie Weinberg, whose client list includes several gold- and platinum-selling artists, such as AEROSMITH, IRON MAIDEN, METALLICA, PANTERA and RUSH.

"Hideaway", the latest video from SHADOWSIDE, can be viewed below. The clip, which was directed, produced and edited by Luiz Felipe Amorim, was filmed in an abandoned garage in the group's hometown of Santos. It features the band performing as well as lead singer Dani Nolden playing the main character. She says, "[The track deals with] people who are misunderstood, mistreated and put down by society for their whole lives, for the sole reason of being different and unusual. In this case, we portrayed it on a more personal level and showed a teenage girl accused by her mother of painting masks to disrespect her, to be aggressive, while all she wants is to express herself and ends up hiding who she really is."
