SHINEDOWN: Footage Of Hamburg Acoustic Gig Posted Online
October 14, 2008Jacksonville, Florida-based hard rock/post-grunge band SHINEDOWN recently played a rare acoustic show in Hamburg, Germany in support of its new album, "The Sound Of Madness".
Video footage of the "Second Chance" performance recorded at the Hamburg show can be viewed on the web site of the German edition of Metal Hammer magazine.
SHINEDOWN's "Devour" single recently reached #1 on both the Billboard Active and Mediabase Rock charts. Fresh off of its success, the band released "Second Chance" as the next single from their album "The Sound Of Madness" on September 9.
For SHINEDOWN lead singer Brent Smith, "Second Chance" is the most autobiographical track on the album. Smith wrote the lyrics about leaving his native Knoxville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in rock 'n' roll.
"This song for me is the most personal song on the record because it's about how I grew up and my childhood," commented Brent. "It's about throwing caution to the wind and going after what you truly want in life."
