SHINEDOWN Interviewed On KISW 99.9 FM's 'The Men's Room'

May 11, 2010

Singer Brent Smith and drummer Barry Kerch of the Jacksonville, Florida-based hard rock/post-grunge band SHINEDOWN were interviewed on May 7, 2010 by "The Men's Room" on the Seattle station KISW 99.9 FM. The chat is now available for streaming in two parts using the audio player below.

Even though SHINEDOWN has about 30 tracks in various stages of pre-production for the band's fourth album, Smith told Billboard.com last month that fans shouldn't expect to hear a follow-up to 2008's "The Sound Of Madness" until late 2011. Why the delay? Smith explained it to The Pulse of Radio: "You know, when the record's done, you know, we'll hand it in. But we're really, really meticulous now as a band. 'The Sound Of Madness' took 18 months to make. You know, our second album was something that we rushed into, and we didn't want to do that on 'Sound Of Madness' and we didn't, and I think 'Sound' has been the most successful record in our career to date. So the next record has to not only live up to all the other three records, but it has to surpass them."

"The Sound Of Madness" came out in June 2008 and has sold over one million copies.

The disc has also spawned five singles, with the latest being "The Crow & The Butterfly".

SHINEDOWN is currently on the road with NICKELBACK, but this summer the band will headline the Carnival Of Madness tour, also featuring CHEVELLE, PUDDLE OF MUDD, SEVENDUST and 10 YEARS.

The group will also head out on a 25-date acoustic tour sometime this fall to close out the touring cycle for "The Sound Of Madness".
