SHINEDOWN: 'My Firsts And Favorites' With BRENT SMITH
April 7, 2011Singer Brent Smith of Jacksonville, Florida hard rockers SHINEDOWN recently revealed his firsts and favorites in a video interview courtesy of Atlantic Records. Find out what the first album Brent ever bought was, the first concert he ever saw and much more in the clip below.
SHINEDOWN will release its new double CD/DVD set, titled "Somewhere In The Stratosphere", on April 19. The package will contain footage and recordings from both the band's "Carnival Of Madness" and acoustic "Anything & Everything" tours from last summer and fall respectively. Also included will be interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and a comprehensive look at life on the road with SHINEDOWN.
Smith told The Pulse Of Radio what one of his proudest accomplishments was on the last touring cycle. "One of the coolest things that we got to accomplish finally was, we played Alaska and we were able to play Hawaii, which solidified the fact that we've played now all 50 states in the U.S.," he said.
SHINEDOWN toured for two and a half years behind its million-selling third album, 2008's "The Sound Of Madness", which featured "Second Chance" and "The Crow & The Butterfly" among its five Top 10 rock radio hits.
The band is currently writing its new record in Los Angeles and Smith told The Pulse Of Radio there's no hurry to put it out. "We're not on a time constraint right now with the album," he said. "Atlantic Records is absolutely spectacular to us and has been for 10 years now, and they really allow us to be artists and go in and do what we need to do."
The new SHINEDOWN album is expected out sometime in early 2012.
