SHINEDOWN Singer Promises Actual Carnival For 'Carnival Of Madness'
May 31, 2013According to The Pulse Of Radio, SHINEDOWN singer Brent Smith has told Loudwire that this summer's Carnival Of Madness tour will feature one thing that's been missing from the previous three editions: an actual carnival. Smith explained, "We called it Carnival Of Madness for a reason; we wanted it to be a carnival . . . This is this first year that we're actually going to make it a full-fledged carnival. We're going to be bringing performers on the road with us so you're going to see fire-breathers and lots of cool clown type individuals. You're going to see the ringleader and you're going to see people on stilts."
Smith added, "You're going to have this masquerade of beautiful characters who are going to be a part of the show this year which is something that we always wanted to do."
Even with all that, Smith told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that delivering the music live is always SHINEDOWN's first priority, "We want to give them the most incredible performances night after night, and play as diligently, as hard, as mean, as aggressive, as loving, as caring and as thoughtful as we can to our audience," he said. "We just want the music to speak for itself. I think as long as that happens, then everything will be fine."
The 2013 Carnival tour will kick off on August 11 at an East Coast location. Dates and venues will be unveiled next Monday (June 3),with ticket sales beginning the following Friday (June 7).
In addition to SHINEDOWN, the bill will feature PAPA ROACH, SKILLET, IN THIS MOMENT and new act WE AS HUMAN.
SHINEDOWN is touring behind its 2012 fourth album, "Amaryllis", and has just released a digital EP called "The Live Room" in conjunction with the tour announcement. The five-song collection features tracks from "Amaryllis", recorded live at Henson Studios in Los Angeles.
