SHINEDOWN To Release 'Second Chance' As Next Single

August 19, 2008

Atlantic Records recording group SHINEDOWN topped the charts again this week when "Devour" reached #1 on both the Billboard Active and Mediabase Rock charts. Fresh off of its success, the band will now release "Second Chance" as the next single from their album "The Sound Of Madness" on September 9.

For SHINEDOWN lead singer Brent Smith, "Second Chance" is the most autobiographical track on the album. Smith wrote the lyrics about leaving his native Knoxville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in rock 'n' roll.

"This song for me is the most personal song on the record because it's about how I grew up and my childhood," commented Brent. "It's about throwing caution to the wind and going after what you truly want in life."

"Second Chance" can also currently be heard in all of the promos on Fox for their hit series "Terminator - The Sarah Connor Chronicles".

Additionally, beginning today (Tuesday, August 19),SHINEDOWN will make a digital-only track titled "Junkies For Fame" available for purchase on all major download sites. Recorded during the sessions for "The Sound Of Madness", "Junkies For Fame" was previously only available on the video game Rock Band 2.

The Jacksonville, Florida-based rock outfit will be out on tour for the rest of the year and has several new dates lined up with AVENGED SEVENFOLD and BUCKCHERRY.
