SHOK PARIS To Debut New Song Live In Cleveland

May 1, 2010

Cleveland metal legends SHOK PARIS will debut a brand new song, "Madness My Love", at their special "Go For The Throat" concert on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Beachland Ballroom in the band's hometown.

"Madness My Love", a haunting, mid-tempo number loaded with melody and lead guitar throughout, is the first new song the SHOK PARIS songwriting team of Ken Erb and Vic Hix has written together in over 20 years.

"As it stands right now, over the past month Ken has sent me 13 new songs, some are complete and some are mostly a riff idea, none with vocals, and that is where I come in," says Hix.

"I have two songs completely done, one called 'Madness My Love', which is all about the craziness going on with people today, and the other is 'Darkened Highway', a song about losing your soul. I have all kinds of melody lines ready for many of the other ones. I am just trying to put them all together.

"I hope to have all the songs done by summer so we can start recording with Bill [Peters] and Auburn in the fall".

"I am very excited about our progress with the new SHOK PARIS material," adds Erb. "I wasn't sure what to expect from the new lineup as far as the new stuff goes, but everyone in the band is definitely on top of their game. It's melodious metal mayhem at its best! Classic SHOK. I believe it will earn a well deserved spot at the top of our fans SHOK PARIS playlists."

In addition to the new song, SHOK PARIS will perform their classic 1984 debut album, "Go For The Throat", in its entirety for the very first time at the May 1 Beachland Ballroom concert. Also scheduled to appear are GROUND ZERO, H.A.T.E. and DOFKA. The show starts at 8 p.m. Admission is $9.

SHOK PARIS' performance will be recorded by Spectrum Sound for a forthcoming live release, due out this summer on Auburn Records to support the band's July trip overseas.

SHOK PARIS reunited in 2009 with a new lineup to perform at the Auburn Records 25th Anniversary Concert. The band still features core members and main songwriters Ken Erb on guitar and Hix on vocals.

SHOK PARIS will headline the first night of the Headbangers Open Air festival, set to take place July 29-31, 2010 in Brande-Hörnerkirchen, Germany. This will be the band's second trip overseas. SHOK PARIS also performed at the Bang Your Head!!! festival in Balingen, Germany in 2004.

"I can tell ya 'Shok Rock' is back with a vengeance, new lineup and all!", proclaims Hix, "so get your Flying Vs ready to roll!!!"

SHOK PARIS is:

Vic Hix - Vocals
Ken Erb - Guitar
John Korzekwa - Guitar
Ed Stephens - Bass
Donovan Kenaga – Drums
