SIEBENBÜRGEN: South American Tour Postponed

October 13, 2008

Reactivated Swedish melodic black metallers SIEBENBÜRGEN have issued the following update:

"We have been working hard to make a South American tour happen but it has proven much harder than we first thought. The response to SIEBENBÜRGEN coming to South America has been fantastic! Everyone wants to book us but finding a manageable and sensible timetable, so that we could do as many shows as possible without wasting time in between, has proven a hill too steep to climb.

"We have come to the conclusion that to reschedule our entire tour to March 2009 is the best option for both the band and you fans. This way we will have plenty of time to book the venues we want to play and to hopefully increase the size of the tour to include as many countries in South and Central America as possible.

"Who knows — we might even shoot off to Texas for a few gigs in the U.S. as well. Stay tuned for more information. This means that we will withdraw from the Dark Averno festival [in Venezuela] in November as well. We apologize for this and hope that you will come and experience us in 2009 instead."

"Revelation VI", the new album from SIEBENBÜRGEN, was released in June via Massacre Records. Audio samples are available on the band's MySpace page.

"Revelation VI" was recorded at Studio 301 in Stockholm and Sonic Train in Varberg and is the group's first to feature guitarist Joakim Ohlsson and vocalist Lisa Bohwalli Simonsson. Singer Marcus Ehlin previously stated, "Our first decision was to exclude the female parts in our music, but after hearing Lisa's voice, we changed our minds."

SIEBENBÜRGEN split up in February 2006, explaining at the time that "after 12 years, we sadly don't have the energy and inspiration to take the band any further and it would be wrong to us and to our fans to continue without the passion that SIEBENBÜRGEN deserve."

SIEBENBÜRGEN's fifth album, "Darker Designs & Images", was released in 2005 via Napalm Records.
