SILENT CIVILIAN Added To FEAR FACTORY/PRONG Tour

April 26, 2010

SILENT CIVILIAN — the band led by SPINESHANK vocalist Jonny Santos — has been added to the North American tour featuring FEAR FACTORY, PRONG and THY WILL BE DONE.

Commented Santos : "I am very excited to be a part of this tour. Not only has FEAR FACTORY been one of my all-time favorite bands, but they have been like family to me over the years, especially Dino [Cazares, FEAR FACTORY guitarist]. He is like my metal dad, and had a lot to do with the start of my career back in the early SPINESHANK days. He gave me my first U.S. and European tours and basically taught me how to survive on the road, as well as proper tour etiquette.

"This tour couldn't have come to us at a better time, since our [new] record comes out May 18 and the tour starts two days before that. It will allow us to sell the record at our merch booth and give the fans an opportunity to meet the band and get a CD signed.

"We have always been a band that tries to stay close to our fans and interact with them as much as possible. I also feel that this tour will open us up to a lot of fans who have never heard of us and push the SILENT CIVILIAN name out there a little more.

"I have to say I'm just as excited to tour with PRONG. I was a huge fan of them as well when I was a kid.

"I'm looking forward to meeting everyone in THY WILL BE DONE and predicting this tour to be an all-around success!

"We are going to play a lot of new material live, and plan on crushing the fans every night.

"This is gonna be one brutal fucking tour, and I am very honored to be a part of the 'Fear Campaign'."

"Victim Of Fear", a brand new song from SILENT CIVILIAN, is available for streaming on the group's MySpace page. The track comes off SILENT CIVILIAN's sophomore album, "Ghost Stories", which is scheduled for release on May 18 via Mediaskare/Century Media. The group recorded a total of 15 songs for the CD, but only between 10 and 12 tracks will make the final record.

Another new SILENT CIVILIAN song, "Let Us Prey", is available for streaming below (courtesy of AOL's Noisecreep).

"When we wrote that song we wanted to show so many different sides to the band in one song," Santos told Noisecreep. "We did blast beats on that song, which is something we've never done. We were really trying to experiment with different things. I just feel it takes you on a ride."

"The Last One Standing", the new video from SILENT CIVILIAN, can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Scott Hansen (A DAY TO REMEMBER, ALESANA, A SKYLIT DRIVE, CARNIFEX),and it turned out "fucking amazing," according to the band.
