SILENTIUM Finish Recording New Album

February 12, 2003

Finnish atmospheric doom metallers SILENTIUM have finished recording their third full-length CD, "Harmátia de Prudence", and are preparing to mix it for a late spring/early summer release through Spikefarm Records. The CD was recorded at Sundicoop Studio in Savonlinna, Finland and was produced by NIGHTWISH mainman Tuomas Holopainen.

"[It will be] a very unique album," Holopainen said of the effort, which will feature a guest appearance by former LULLACRY and current SOULGRIND frontwoman Tanja Kemppainen. "No one has done a metal album like this before... It's a wild spectacle. It is very artistic and done with an open heart.

"The album is like a drama. There's a theme going on through all the tracks, the songs have different vocalists and there are long speaking parts between songs — some of them several minutes long — spoken by real actors. These speeches are very important part of the record's story.

"As a producer, I have brought my 'darker side' into this project..."
