Singer Says AVENGED SEVENFOLD Had Best Summer Ever

August 21, 2006

Launch Radio Networks reports: How did you spend your summer vacation? If you're a member of AVENGED SEVENFOLD, you spent it with acts like GUNS N' ROSES, METALLICA and OZZY OSBOURNE. AVENGED singer M. Shadows told Launch that between opening for GUNS and METALLICA in Europe and doing Ozzfest with Ozzy, his band had their best summer ever. "This whole summer's been a trip," he said. "Between hanging out with Axl Rose in Prague, to being onstage singing with METALLICA, to, you know, seeing Ozzy onstage, it's been a trip. You know, like, you see someone like that and your, like, breath stops for a second. You're like, 'Okay, that's Ozzy.' And so it's a trip and we're just really grateful we get to meet all those people and even see them in the presence and be sharing the stage with them."

AVENGED SEVENFOLD will embark on a three-week North American tour next month, finishing up in Devore, California on September 23 at a radio festival featuring GUNS N' ROSES, ALICE IN CHAINS, PAPA ROACH, and MUSE.

The band expects to do one more round of U.S. shows later this year, before hitting the studio in 2007 for a new album.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD has been nominated for a Video Music Award for Best New Artist at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards, and both the band's web site, avengedsevenfold.com, and their MySpace page are encouraging fans to log on to MTV.com and vote for them.

The 2006 MTV Video Music Awards will be held August 31 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
