SIXX: A.M. Rehearsing For One-Off Show In Salt Lake City

October 21, 2007

Singer Pearl AdayANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian's fiancée and daughter of legendary crooner Meat Loaf, who is also the backing vocalist for SIXX: A.M., the new band led by MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx — has issued the following update:

"So, I've been back in rehearsals for the past few days with Nikki, James [Michael], and D.J. [Ashba]. SIXX: A.M. will be playing Salt Lake City this coming Thurday, October 25th at the E Center along with KORN, OPERATOR, AIRBOURNE, and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. Start time is 6:20 p.m. We go on right before KORN.

"Rehearsals are rockin' as usual. We've added one more SIXX: A.M. track to the set, plus a special suprise that will have any proper fan go through the roof.

"I'm having a blast, of course. I'm the little sister they let in the boys club. It rules. I love it.

"Come on out and catch us live if you're in the area. Even if you're not, make the trek. It's well worth it. We'll kick your ass..."

Pearl last performed backing vocals for SIXX: A.M. on July 16, 2007 at the Crash Mansion in downtown Los Angeles. The five-song performance (watch video footage below) took place in front of the press and contest winners from radio and MySpace. The thundering sound was accompanied by synchronous visual projections of animation and artwork from Nikki's book, "The Heroin Diaries".

As previously reported, Ian, Ted Nugent, and ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell are among the guest musicians who appear on the new recordings by PEARL, the band led by Pearl Aday. Check out the tunes — which were produced by Joe Barresi (TOOL, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, WEEZER, BAD RELIGION) — on Pearl's MySpace page.

"It's straight-up rock 'n' roll," she told the Manchester Evening News about her band's musical direction. "I can waver a little bit — bluesy or southern rock — but to me it's all rock 'n' roll."

PEARL — consisting of Aday, Ian and Jim Wilson of MOTHER SUPERIOR — will support MEAT LOAF on six dates in the UK beginning on October 31 in Newcastle.

An accomplished singer, Pearl had previously provided background vocals on several of her father's tours as well as for MÖTLEY CRÜE as one of the "Crüe Sluts". She can also be heard singing a duet with Meat Loaf on Meat's "Couldn't Have Said It Better" CD, in the track "Man of Steel" (co-written by MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx).

"It was a blast," she told the Manchester Evening News about her time singing for the CRÜE. "I was a massive MÖTLEY CRÜE fan growing up and I used to save my allowance to buy posters and magazines they were in. Touring with them, singing and dancing, every night I was saying 'Wow!'"
