SKINDRED Drops Off BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE Tour
February 9, 2008UK-based ragga-metal band SKINDRED has issued the following update;
"Due to an accident whilst unloading equipment, SKINDRED have been forced to quit the European leg of BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE tour. We regret to add that Arya (drums) has sustained an injury to his wrist and head, and unfortunately he is unable to continue play at this time; he had been advised by doctors to rest until he makes a full recovery.
"We'd like to thank our mates in STILL REMAINS, BULLET and all their hard-working crew for showing us much love, the short UK dates we did were properly the best shows we’ve played as an opening act in the UK.
"Thank you for given us the opportunity to play in front of incredible audiences every night. It's a shame we didn't get to say goodbye properly to you all. Hope the tour continues to be successful and we have the chance to work with you all again sometime.
"Our deepest apologies to all our fans and friends who had plans to come along to show us support at the coming BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE Euro dates. We hope we can make it up to you in the near future… once again our innermost apologies to all.
"We hope to post new touring opportunities in the coming weeks."
SKINDRED's sophomore album, "Roots Rock Riot", sold 3,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 6 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and No. 22 on the national independent chart.
The recording of "Roots Rock Riot" was completed at Bieler Bros. Studios in Pompano Beach, FL with producer Matt Squire (PANIC AT THE DISCO) and was mixed by Rick Will (BABYLON).
"Roots Rock Riot" is follow-up to the band's breakthrough debut, "Babylon", which has sold over 250,000 copies and featured the Top 10 hit single "Nobody" and its successful follow-up, "Pressure".
SKINDRED has toured the world extensively with the likes of KORN, CHEVELLE, BREAKING BENJAMIN, HIM, SEVENDUST, PAPA ROACH, SOULFLY and has appeared at the U.K.'s Download festival where frontman Benji Webbe took over vocals for KORN to perform their classic song "A.D.I.D.A.S."
