SKINDRED Releases Music Video For 'Big Em Up' From 'You Got This' Album

Welsh ragga metal band SKINDRED has released the video for its new single "Big Em Up", taken from the band's recent No. 1 hit album "You Got This", which opens with a simple but strong message of support for anyone suffering from mental health conditions, anxiety or depression. The message behind the song is a simple call for everyone to make sure your friends and the people around you are alright and to pick them up when they are feeling low.

SKINDRED singer Benji Webbe says: "It's so easy to get overwhelmed by life and everything it throws at you, from your gas bill to a family tragedy or people just being negative and your timeline filling up with hate and negativity on social media. 'Big Em Up' is a simple message for everyone to check on their friends and to pick 'em up and to try and encourage some positivity back into the world. It's a message me and my brothers in SKINDRED try and share in the music we play, so all we ask is for our fans and listeners to enjoy the single and to also share that message of positivity too. Please check on those around you. Big Em Up!!"

SKINDRED is set to play its biggest U.K. and Ireland "You Got This" tour dates later this month, starting at Nottingham's Rock City on October 23. As part of the tour, the band will play a special London Halloween party show titled "Night Of The Living Dred" at London's Alexandra Palace on October 31 with support from ALIEN ANT FARM and SPINESHANK.

SKINDRED has announced that £1 from every ticket sold for its Alexandra Palace Halloween extravaganza will be donated to music charity Metal For Good which supports a range of projects, including focusing on people's mental health and well-being, and unlocking potential, in addition to a range of other brilliant causes.

In further news, SKINDRED's "You Got This" album was nominated last month as a contender for the Welsh Music Prize.

Production for SKINDRED's ninth LP came from the Grammy-winning Jay Ruston, whom SKINDRED drummer Arya Goggin admires for having the songwriting chops to work with 1980s power ballad master Desmond Child, while also producing SLIPKNOT's Corey Taylor and Mike Patton's MR. BUNGLE.

The new album finds the Newport trio — completed by guitarist Mikey Demus — embarking on a thrilling journey to follow the mainstream breakthrough that came with 2023's critically-acclaimed album "Smile". That album shot straight into the U.K. official album chart at No. 2, and SKINDRED went on to receive the "Best Alternative Music Act" award at the MOBOs, also winning "Best UK Act" at the Heavy Music Awards.
