SKINLAB: New Album Due In July

March 3, 2009

Veteran San Francisco Bay Area metallers SKINLAB are close to inking a deal with an as-yet-undisclosed label for the release of the band's new album, tentatively due on July 7. The CD is being recorded at Trident studios in Pacheco, California with producer Juan Urteaga. According to bassist/vocalist Steev Esquivel, "This will be by far the best SKINLAB... ever!! Expect nothing but pure heaviness... This album has everything a longtime SKINLAB will expect, but also a few other elements that we've added to the mix that are gonna blow you away. We're coming prepared for the beatdown!!"

In other news, SKINLAB has been added to the July 10 stop of the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Sacramento, California. SKINLAB will be the second band of the day on the Jägermeister Mobile Stage. Esquivel states: "To say we're excited is an understatement. Jägermeister have always been very supportive of SKINLAB.... We're fuckin stoked and couldn't come with better timing!"

SKINLAB recently posted a short preview of the band's video for the song "In for the Kill". The clip was filmed in May 2008 at the group's warehouse in Oakland, California with new, up-and-coming director Jourdan McClure and it features an appearance by rebounding UFC fighter Nate Quarry and Greg Thompson.

As previously reported, SKINLAB will team up with SNOT and DEATH PILOT for a short West Coast tour in April. So far, only one date has been revealed: April 17 at The Kennel Club in Sacramento, California.

SKINLAB released a live album, "SkinnedAlive!", in April 2008 via BCD Music Group. The CD was recorded on June 3, 2007 at The Metro in Oakland, California.

SKINLAB's current lineup:

Paul Hopkins - Drums
Glen Telford - Guitars
Steev Esquivel - Bass/Vocals
Snake - Guitars

SKINLAB's last studio album, "ReVolting Room", came out in 2002. A double-disc set, entitled "Nerve Damage", featuring alternate versions of studio tracks, several live tracks recorded on the band's "ReVolting Room" tour, plus two new songs, came out in 2004.
