SKINLAB Parts Ways With CRASH MUSIC
May 28, 2008Bassist/vocalist Steev Esquivel of the veteran San Francisco Bay Area metallers SKINLAB has issued the following update:
"Now, after almost a year of legal bullshit, we are stoked to announce that we've walked away from our deal with Crash Music. We've been forced to keep tight-lipped on this matter for the last eight months and feel that it's time that the light be shed on this matter. We are free and stoked to have been able to part ways with the label. We're looking forward to what the future brings us; the doors are again wide open for us to do what we want. We are in a position to actualy take this in any direction. Can I get a 'hell yeah!?'"
SKINLAB filmed a video for "In for the Kill" on May 12 at the group's warehouse in Oakland, California with new, up-and-coming director Jourdan McClure. The clip will feature an appearance by rebounding UFC fighter Nate Quarry and Greg Thompson.
Commented Steev: "The video is also coming along great. Jourdan is doing an amazing job. Can't wait to share this with ya'll. From what we've seen so far, looks sick."
SKINLAB has uploaded a pre-production version of a new song, "In for the Kill", to the band's MySpace page.
SKINLAB released a live album, "SkinnedAlive!", on April 29 via BCD Music Group. The CD was recorded on June 3, 2007 at The Metro in Oakland, California.
SKINLAB's 1997 debut album, "Bound, Gagged and Blindfolded", was reissued on October 2, 2007 via Century Media Records. The repackaged disc features never-before-seen video footage and pictures with liner notes from founding members Steev Esquivel and Mike Roberts along with new artwork layout.
SKINLAB has set "Now That You're One of Us" as the title of its upcoming DVD.
