The band played two low-key shows London's Water Rats venue on April 2 and April 3 under the pseudonym S.C.A.M. (a combination of the first-name initials of the four bandmembers).

SKUNK ANANSIESkin, bassist Cass (Richard Lewis),Ace and drummer Mark Richardson — split up in 2001 but announced last September that they were writing new material together.

SKUNK ANANSIE was named after the West African folk tales of Anansie the spider-man, with "skunk" added to "make the name nastier."
